COULD U?

Imagine this,
You are listening to the news one day...BREAKING NEWS,10 PEOPLE DIED IN KANO DUE TO OUTBREAK OF AN UNKNOWN FLU.You don't think much about it,people die everyday. Coming back from work the following Monday, you turn on your car radio,500 PEOPLE IN KANO DIED OF UNKNOWN FLU.Villages are wiped out and experts claim this  flu has never been seen before.
By the time you get up on Tuesday morning, it is the lead story. The disease is spreading.... Not just in Kano. It's spreading in other northern areas. But that still seems very far away. The media have now coined it,"The mystery flu".
You watch the news later that night and see an IBO woman crying, your jaw hits your chest when her words were translated to English "There is a man lying in the hospital in Imo state. He is dying of the mystery flu.It has come to Imo.Panic ensues.....
Lagos is plunged into fear...people are wondering "what if it comes into this state".Preachers on TV are saying its the scourge of God....BREAKING NEWS:TWO WOMEN ARE LYING IN A HOSPITAL...... IN LAGOS,DYING OF THE MYSTERY FLU.Within hours the disease envelopes the state.
A CURE HAS BEEN FOUND.A vaccine can be made, but its going to take the blood of somebody who hasn't been infected. You have been asked to go to the nearest hospital in your neighbourhood with your family to get your blood tested.By the time you and your family get there, there are long lines of people and a constant rush of doctors and nurses taking blood samples and putting labels on them. After the test, you and your family stand around with others scared, wondering, waiting for result.
Nobody seems to have their name called, the doctors just keep taking people's blood samples. But then a young doctor comes out of the hospital..."Screaming"...you don't hear what the man is saying,he screams the name again. But then your son pokes at you..."Daddy,that's my name they are calling".Before you know it they have grabbed your son.."Hold on,that's my son"
"We think he has the right blood type".We just need to cross check to make sure he doesn't have the disease. Everybody is happy, some even crying. That's the first time you would see someone smile in a month.
An old doctor walks up to you and your spouse and thank you."Your son's blood is perfect, its clean and pure ,he doesn't have the disease".The doctor pulls you aside,"I need to talk to you,we didn't realize the donor would be a minor and we....we..we need you to sign a consent form".You quickly begin to sign but then something catches your eye...the box for amount of pint of blood to be taken is empty
"How many pints?" you ask.The doctor's smile fades away,"we had no idea it would be a child,we weren't prepared for that".You ask again "How many pints?".The doctor looks sadly away....
"WE ARE GONNA NEED EVERYTHING" "I don't understand,he's my only son"
The doctor grabs you by the shoulders and pulls you close..."we are talking about the whole world,do you understand.. Please sign the form we need to hurry"
       What would you do?????
In silence, you sign the form because you know it's the only thing to do.The doctor says "would you like to have a moment with your son before we get started"
Could you walk into the hospital room, where you son is sitting on a table,"Daddy,Mummy?,What's going on".Could you tell him you love him and when the doctors and nurses come back for him, could you leave?
The following week, they hold a ceremony to honor your son for his phenomenal contribution to humanity....But some people didn't bother to come because they had better things to do,some sleep through it,some come with a pretentious smile and say "that's boring"..Wouldn't you wanna stand up and say......
"Excuse me,I'm not sure of you are aware of it or not,but the amazing life you have,my son died for you so that you could have that life.My son died so that you could live.He died for you.Does it mean nothing to you?"

Perhaps that's what God wants to say to us...Let us always appreciate God's love for us.Let us begin to comprehend his great love for us.

SHINE

On my way to hostel yesterday evening walking with my friend who was so distracted by the farm game she played on her phone, I couldnt help but notice the beauty of the sky above me .It had just raiNed hours earlier and it seemed the clouds had been hiding the awesome beauty of the sky. It was the most beautiful night sky I had ever seen

The crescent shaped moon posed at a corner illuminating an unusual bright light that almost overshadowed the brightness if all the stars put together . But to my surprise a star , though in the moons beam shone the brightest of all the stars in the sky then it hit me. Wow ,i wouldnt have noticed that star if it wasnt shining brightly .

Thats actually the way God wants us to shine . Gods real intension for us is to shine and not shining but shine the brighteset .Many people are content with just been any other stars in the sky, many cant be seen on really dark night and many cant be seen at all.Strive to be the brightest so your light would be seen amongs men just as the bible says in the book of mathew .

It could be difficult to shine in the face of adversity but only then wouldyour light shine brighter bringing hope to those who have lost hope. Dont stop shining and neverput that light out.

MANAGEMENT LESSON

so i got this article and i felt it's something we should all read......
Two minute management course.

Lesson One ...

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: "Sure, why not."

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit, and ate it.

Management Lesson - To be sitting doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson Two ...

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson - Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson Three ...

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold; the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realise how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Management Lessons -
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

This ends your two-minute
Management course ...

FRIDAY EVENING WITH KENNYPOET

hope your week has been wonderful, BAMS presents one of our finest student via this explicable use of words and articulation of minds, read and enjoy
ADDitiOn.                                                   My neck had managed to get stuck in between the strings of her guitar....yes her! My lover

And so you exclaim...haa! Our 'serious' Oluseye now has a lover but really she wasn't human...she never was

She was a habit, an addiction with a lovely voice and beautiful shadow that made me confused and even more high when she held my hand...

She was an alien from mercury...for though she lived amongst humans, she was red hot as a furnace...

Driving me to my knees sweating everyday asking God for forgiveness, only to hold her hands once more...

I held her hands everyday, walking the streets and talking with friends but no one else saw her...it was almost as if she was invincible or maybe she simply hid behind my back.

So I took my 'lover' everywhere...an addiction I wanted to divorce...a habit I wanted to break...a 'woman' no one else saw...

But then I saw that many other people had theirs, all so beautiful..hiding behind their backs or in their hearts

And I realised that almost the whole world was in love....with addictions...with him or her or they for many where polygamists plagued with many.

But I changed when I, for the first time looked into her ugly face...I never knew because she only revealed her full self in the darkness and NEPA almost never 'brought' light.

I let go of her hands and held on to another...the hands of the mighty one that created me, the one who is the light that helped me see. But many still hold on to her...but I hope not you.

So if we happen to see, I would glance at your back, checking if anyone hides behind you and then ask, 'who is your lover?'...hoping you don't spend most of your days in dark with a shadow that controls.
