Merry Xmas

This is just to say, its the end of the year 😁😁, i know you know right, but put in mind amidst the eating and drinking, some people dont have anything to feed on, try touching a life around you, put a smile on the face of someone, prayers from people like that would go a long way in your life, plus try looking back and see how far you have come, and see how much adjustment you need to do in the coming year.
Secondly how is the cold, take tea, wear big cloths, use wrapper, etc. not body warmth o 😁😁😁
Have a wonderful break, merry xmas and a happy new year to you

THE DEVIL SHE IS.

I understand you. I truly appreciate watching my own horrors play out, and I mean everything as it is without causing anyone pain. I see mine in you, and myself in yours. You want it; her. It's like God had
THE GAMES
It was midnight. The identity of the flame thrower was a mystery as ancient as age. During the off season, his designation was searched by the most versed in sorcery. His sole vulnerability was these 5 minutes. And yet

VANITY CARD#2

Relationships seem to be the rave of the moment, so I thought this vanity card should play soft ball with it. I particularly am not in one now so I might not be the best adviser here,  but I'd give my opinion nevertheless,  I mean you already used your hard-bought mb to open this page.
So here goes, recently I have had this string of exaggerated  thoughts about the girl,  I call her "X" for now,  at least until her identity unveils or I hear that voice leading me to that sister and I use all my machiavellian traits to gently help her stay.
I've thought about X in two ways,  the first follows with the theory of letting life happen to you,  I imagine a hot yet unremarkable afternoon, holed up somewhere in the library trying to figure out how many textbooks I'd have to suffer through to get a "Professor  soladoye standard" knowledge of Animal experimentation. Moments between this search of grand futility,  X walks in,  gently taps me and asks why i got so many giant textbooks in front of me. I smile sheepishly,  knowing  from experience that smiling "sheepishly" is the first sign in this cascade. The normal conversation pattern ensues and eureka!  X is found.
My second thought is somewhat complicated. I'm assuming you have a basal knowledge of the theory of the individual world as a subset of the general socially perceived world. So I thought,  why not take the single best person in your world, hopefully (spontaneously or willingly)  fall in love with them, (pray and fast that they do so too with you) and then try and be the best person in their own world?  That way you are not getting ripped off, if she wants to, it's her gain, and your gain. if she doesn't want to, it's her loss and your gain.  I mean you're already the best person in the world of the best person in your own world, you most definitely wouldn't end up half bad.
I think relationships are as smooth as they are rocky and considering the fact that the world is so big and full of people,  it's logical that we have the privilege of calling at least one of them ours.
Okayy that said , as a result of responses and assaults I got from the first vanity card, Id like you to say this slowly after me: " i hereby pledge in all honesty that i will take dammys vanity cards less emotional and more intellectual".

VANITY CARD#1

Okayy... i decided a while ago to spill out write ups and I wanna call them-"vanity cards"... not because I sat in the corner of my cozy room in NH and strung a few nerve circuits in my mind to light the proverbial bulb and coin that name,  but because one of the writers I deeply respect from his works gives out "vanity cards". You might know him as Chuck lorre.  (pronounced "lorre" or "lor-re" depending on if you've met him or not.. and yeah on if  you are angel black or dammy white😊).
Writing  vanity Card #1,  all I could think of was my "great" school and soon to  be alma mater -bowen university,  and how religion is a giant centralist in my pursuit of an unwanted B.sc and a craved MBBS.
Now I imagine the founding fathers of this (my) university coming together and thinking; oh yeah let's gather our own mix of young adults and feed them with the seeds of eccentric religion,  let's barricade their exposure with biblical jurisdictions  hoping that after four short years they are modeled for life.
But no I don't believe this university models us for life,  if life is exactly like the  bowen campus, - couple curfew by 8, female skirt below the knee,  and male beard beneath the skin, then sure we are gold-ready for life.  But its obvious that isn't how life is... herego,  life here isn't a model,  neither does it model me for the true life beyond these barricades.
Now about the centralism of religion in bowen land, having been coerced into wearing this  cloak of religion for a whole semester solely for the personal aim of experimentation,  I can state the following facts.
-You get unprecedented fame from the whole "chapel business".  If you've got nothing else to offer our society  (bowen land) that's a pretty easy way to get famous.
-You get to meet people  that have been led to try and curb your chain of thought and limit your depth of thought to the easy and convenient answers of religion.
-You meet people who have left the distinction of an individual self for a general personality in which they all have superficial smiles and nicety because a particular doctrine dictates so.
-You meet people who hug you with an external cloak of acceptance but internally subjects you to a strong  condemnation by the highly judgemental jury hidden within them from the external world by the simple fact that tympanic membranes are not designed to beat to the background noise of mind thoughts,  or distant noise of spoken words that they verbalize in their room while you are in your hostel relishing the opportunity provided by an election into a coveted post.
-You meet non practical people,  people who forget reality and exalt feigned spirituality,  forgetting to contribute to their society, my society in ways beyond reading the bible and giving redundant lectures on chapters and verses read.
I am a 400l student in this "going to be great someday" university and I can count the intellectuals I've met by my hand fingers without running out of fingers to count,  but the ones who scream "I am spiritual and of chapel"... ohhh they are inexhaustible  in their numbers... and unfortunately, in my opinion, they are the ones that least belong in an academic environment, and please don't misunderstand me,  they do belong here, but I believe that, in an institution whose motto reads "excellence and godliness" (not "godliness and excellence ") intellectuals come first,  brilliant minds find home and creatively inclined individual should find refuge from the quick criticism offered by this sect.
In my opinion,  if Bowen is ever going to reach a world standard, these people have to take a step aside and allow individuals who embody the truth of the universality of a university education,  coupled with a non religious faith in a "school specified God" thrive. (I mean you can't go around screaming "Allah is great" here, or "i am a strong Buddhist",   or can you? ).
I love this school,  I love watching  it grow and most importantly I believe in its potential. We are bowen; I am bowen.

WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT DESK

Its with great pleasure and desire that you are welcomed into the new session, my desire and prayer is that it shall be a successful one.
- pray
It is vital, and it would help pave a way where there seems to be no way, dont wait till you need to pray, dont wait till you last option is to pray, pray so that you wont need to pray (if you understand), God is always listening and he loves you, dont abadon him, psalm 121 vs 1 says your help cometh from the lord, so why fear, it is settled, just look up to him
- Read hard
Read Read Read, thats your primary assignment, look for a method that works for you, look, write and talk, that's one method, dont relent, and dont wait for exams before you read, there is this joy you have when you in exam hall and you have stuff to write, read hard and daze your lectures, shock them
- play hard
When you have the time, please play hard, not small o, hard, so you wont have to go back to reading and feel like playing again, medical school doesnt mean you shouldnt play, once you have done the right thing at the right time, there would always be a time for play.

I really can go on and on, but like i said this is just yo welcome you back to a new session, and for the  clinicals what more am i to say, keep doing what you doing, its tough but God is strong. Its not easy but God that brought you this far would take you to the finish line.

Note: if you have a complaint of issues, am always available, but kindly give a short introduction whenever you place a call eg am Jide 200lv physiology...... Etc. God bless you. Have a fun filled day
And also please pay you departmental dues....

YESTERDAY'S FIRE

Yesterday an inferno visited the building right next to us,
Very rude she was...who in the world told her she was welcome?
But in her open palms was the invitation letter,
The same paper that had first caught fire, rolled into a cigarette, smoked by rouges in my area.

So she went on a rampage, her small self...
Destroying the properties of others with her milk tooth,
She did it so quick, chewing away beautiful buildings into dark ashes,
And if she ever lost any of her fiery teeth, the tooth fairy would be unfair to replace it with a dollar,

I liken a child to the fire or the fire to a child for it always starts innocent...
First satisfied with the little objects we give it to eat to keep us warm,
Then like a ‘child’ it becomes curious and wants to know how big buildings taste...
And then it explores causing us to need hundreds of fire trucks to bring it down.

The 'fire' in a child, causes the child to be rude which burns his or her parent's happiness down,
And the 'child' in a fire is never satisfied- wanting more and more, crawling towards bigger houses and burning them down, crying 'ees my yown'...
Crying out the more every time we try to make it 'Keep quiet'...
Fortunately the heroes in Fire trucks came yesterday and finally turned the fire off.

But when a child's actions and words begin to consume and burn...who shall we call?
For the fire is in the child and the water that normally puts out fires only helps he or she take a bath.
The fire in them burns up their insides, charring their emotions and feelings,
They grow to become evil and begin setting real fires like yesterday's fire.

Overeating caused by a hormone deficiency in brain

If you find yourself downing that extra piece of chocolate fudge cake even though you’re not hungry, it might be the absence of a hormone in your brain that’s causing you to overeat purely for pleasure.

A REVREND's MURDER

His voice had taken on a deeper color as he finally concluded, smiling, 'if you don't marry my son, David, you just may die’. Leah just stood shaking, still in her night gown silently reciting all the prayers she was taught as a child. This was not the first time this mysterious man had broken into her house and threatened her, in fact the last time she met him watching TV in the living room...playing with a small pistol in his hands. She never saw his face...the image she had of him was as dark as his words and even darker than the shadows he so brilliantly blended in. His footsteps pounded the polished mahogany floor as he made his way out of the house, 'this is the last time you shall hear from me, when I want someone dead....', he spoke without turning back then suddenly paused, his hands feeling the warmth of the door knob before turning it sharply, 'I don't waste time in getting it done', he continued as the gentle creak of the opening door created the perfect background music for a scary song in a horror movie. But this was worse...it was NO movie. As soon as he left, Leah broke down in tears and fear gripped her chest and refused to let go. Naturally she was someone that would by all means stay out of trouble but this was way more complicated.

Leah met Scavo a few years back when she was still working in 'Patricks restaurant', a few blocks from her house. His voice and composure had first thrown her off her feet and later off her toes as she tried to balance on them, being the stubborn girl she was. She had unfortunately had her heart broken some years back by a man who claimed to love her so she had threaded carefully after that but Scavo was nothing like the other guys she had met, his black shiny hair sat so perfectly on his head and his face told a story Leah wanted to hear every day for the rest of her life. So, the 'Yes' was not silent a few weeks back when he proposed, in fact that night the whole restaurant had paused to witness the so very much obvious love between this two beautiful people. The wedding was to be on that weekend, all the things for the lovely day was set and ready, everything was sure...everything except the fact that she would actually get married to the man of her dreams on that day. 'I could die!', she cried to herself. She knew the mysterious man's son but she just couldn't marry him, She couldn't tell the police either because the man had given clear instructions not to. But slowly in her confusion she found a solution...she stood up slowly from the floor her body had lay upon in a pile, made sure the door was locked then paced up and down the room...her brain slowly filling up with 'dangerous' plans.

The wedding day was more than beautiful!, both families of the couple where present all dressed up in tuxedos and gowns. Leah was the only child of her parents and almost the whole world had come to see the gentleman that had succeeded in whisking the Successful Engineer's daughter away from him. Her father was pleased even from the first day he met Scavo and he gave him a 'silent' wink as he led his daughter to the altar, the pianos booming thereby causing the Old chapel to shake delightfully but not noticeably. The Reverend had begun the vows and the couple repeated after him up until the time he turned to the man and asked, 'Do you take this woman, Leah, to be your wedded wife?'...his 'I do' reply was loud and reassuring but the same question posed to his bride was left unanswered.....and the whole crowd was confused and surprised. Her father shifted uneasily in his chair and the people murmured as they saw Leah stand, staring at the Reverend. The Reverend had carefully revealed a gun from his white robe and smiled...he reminded Leah with a voice close to a whisper, 'my Son...you must marry him, today, NOW.' He didn't notice that a young man had staggered out of the congregation and now stood before them, drooling. The young man was the Reverend's son, he was born with a mental retardation and few people normally had the patience to listen to him and attempt to join his scattered words in their brains to form a sentence BUT now, everyone listened when he spoke, they had no choice. 'Father, I will NOT marry her...not this one'. His voice was shrill and frustrated. His father looked at him with disdain, he himself had had a horrible marriage that had produced the boy as his only son and he wanted nothing more but to give his son what he himself never had....a beautiful wife and lovely normal children but even just the way his son spoke angered him so when his son attempted to continue the speech about how he(the reverend) had also threatened two other girls few months back to marry him(David) only for them to disappear mysteriously after going ahead with their original marriage plans, the Reverend pulled out the gun and shot him. The people sitting at the other end of the church could have seen the smoke dance out of the nozzle of the murder weapon.

Everyone screamed, the young man suddenly fell to the floor and the Reverend disappeared without a trace. Leah was by the wounded man's side in a fraction of a second, holding his hand in hers. Scavo was fumbling with a phone trying to call the ambulance, he was confused, he had questions but those would be addressed later. Leah put her hand in the dying mans hair, trying to reassure him....the bullet had sliced through his chest and a pool of blood had started forming at his sides. Leah had begun talking to him from the last day that man (who turned out to be the Reverend) had come to her house and threatened her, she had made friends with him and given him the encouragement and motivation he needed to stand up to his father. She began feeling it was her fault and guilt engulfed her but the son, David, saw this and smiled while gently squeezing her hands as if telling her 'No, you changed my perception of life, you gave me a reason to believe in myself and stand for what I believe in'. Amidst the chaos and distant sound of ambulance sirens, he looked into her eyes and took his last breath. Of all the women he had seen this one was different and he felt a feeling of love come over him but he would never fully understand this love of a thing, would he?

Friendly match with Agric.dept!

The medical students(BAMS) and the Agric students(NASS) had a football match on the mid day of the week, wednesday 22nd july.
At around 5pm,the match was played on the school field and a lot of supporters were around to watch their teams play as it was in the summer period,so not a lot of students were around.
The BAMS player wore the light green jersey while the Agric students wore their normal dark green jersey which signifies their plant and all......!
The match started with an early goal from BAMS in the first half while the NASS students equalised in the late minute of the second half.
The game ended as a tie...but it was a very fantastic game from both sides...
